tiny flower thursday & more

I spent my lunch hour on Wednesday walking around the outside of the building with my camera. That’s where all of these photos are from. Either the grounds around the Library or from the top floor of the parking deck. Downtown Akron was gorgeous this day.

storycorps

StoryCorps is back at Main Library. This time with their MobileBooth, an Airstream trailer outfitted with a recording studio that travels the country year-round collecting stories. Not familiar with StoryCorps?  Here’s a brief description from their web site: Since 2003, tens of thousands of everyday people have interviewed family and friends through StoryCorps. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to take home and share, and is archived for generations to come at the Library of Congress. Millions listen to their award-winning broadcasts on public radio and the Internet. These stories can be heard locally every Friday on NPR’s Morning Edition broadcast on 89.7 WKSU. StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind, creating a growing portrait of who we really are as Americans.

Here’s a link with a radio story about StoryCorps visit to Akron.
