quote of the night…oscar edition
”I think it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect and anticipate their great shame…if they continue that way of support. We’ve got to have equal rights for everyone.”
-Best Actor Winner, Sean Penn
i heart the following things
- and always #1…the Gregster.
- friends and family.
- cheese. All kinds of cheese.
- keane's new album Perfect Symmetry. It's a little different from their last albums, but I'm quite enjoying it. I don't think there's a single stinker track on it. My favorites include Better Than This, You Don't See Me, and Pretend That You're Alone.
- just finished a book, The Screwed-Up Life of Charlie the Second. It's a sort-of coming of age story about a kid in High School and his attempts to fit in. It was just excellent.
- the killers new album Day & Age. Another near perfect, dare i say, high-end album from the boys from Las Vegas. Standout tunes include Human, Spaceman, A Dustland Fairytale, and This Is Your Life.
- not having to watch a constant stream of political commercials.
- continuing chatter of an upcoming movie based on the cult-hit sitcom, Arrested Development.
- Top Chef New York, Top Chef New York, Top Chef New York!
- having more than one day off in a row from work.
they need a home
I have this trio of photographs that I took in Columbus over the summer. I really like the texture and colors, but can't decide where to hang them. Waiting for inspiration on my one day off this week. It's been a pretty good day. Trips to Target and Border's. Lunch later at Chipotle, I think. Tonight I have a condo board meeting and of course, an episode of 30 Rock, to look forward to.
i heart her
Rachel Maddow gets her own daily show on MSNBC. She is so smart and funny. And of course, I adore her liberal bent.
movies and burgers

Saturday was a very good day. After Greg’s haircut in the morning (it looks very nice David) we headed to the movies. We checked out the Disney/Pixar flick Wall-E. The animation was stunning. And the story was quite sweet. There were many lessons to be learned. I think the most amazing part of the movie was the absence of dialogue for most of the first part of the movie. How so much emotion could be conveyed without a single word of dialogue was so beautiful.
Saturday night, I worked the Storytelling Concert at work. It was a fun evening that thoroughly enjoyed.
I slept in until 8:45 this morning. That’s very late for me. We met Megan and Michele for breakfast. We planned to go to Wally Waffle, but the line was really long. Greg estimated that there were thousands of people on line. I think he may have slightly exaggerated that number. Instead we headed over to Bob Evan’s. We had a nice time, followed by games of Wii bowling and tennis at home. My tennis game needs a lot of work. A lot. Later, we are heading to the Hamburger Festival downtown. We’re also DVRing last season’s highly acclaimed Mad Men for viewing before the new season begins later this month.
more big brother – you got it
my post this week on the return of Big Brother has recieved a lot of comments. And after watching last night’s episode, in my opinion one of the best ever of the series, I’ve decided to create a blog dedicated to all things Big Brother. There I will try to recap each episode in bullet point form. Hopefully it can become a place where we can all meet and discuss each episode in the comments section. So click on over, and check in each day.
