37 things to do in the year before I turn 38
In about two weeks, I’ll turn 37. I’m stealing (or is it borrowing) the following idea of a list from one my favorite bloggers. I’ll cross off items as I make progress through the list in the next year. There’s a tab up there towards the top of my blog where you can track my progress. Also, if you want to help out with any of these items, I’d be happy to have you join me on this journey.
37 things to do in the year before I turn 38:
- Get a passport and travel outside of the country, hey Canada counts!
- Make a bowl of lime jello. Completed on Sunday, December 20, 2009.
- Go for a walk in the rain with Greg.
- Experience public transportation.
- Hug a stranger.
- Drink more wine.
- Say “Yes” more. (This should be easier after doing #6)
- Make mozzarella cheese.
- Send greeting cards, just because.
- Stop at yellow traffic lights. What’s my hurry?
- Host a Sunday brunch get together.
- Enter a photograph in a contest.
- Donate money to NPR.

irritated…and a little hungry too
I ran short on time this morning, I wanted to have extra time to drive to work in the snow and ice. So I didn’t pack a lunch. I figured I would get soup or a sammie at the cafe in our building. On my way to work I passed McD’s and craved a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. Instead, I decided that I would get something at the cafe at work for breakfast. Then comes the email. The cafe will be closed today. If our building is open, I think they should be open too. They aren’t volunteers, they are hired staff. Now, I guess I’ll have trudge across the street for lunch today.
UPDATE: We are closing the building at 2 pm. So lunch will be had at home whilst wearing my flannel pajama pants next to the fireplace.
i want, i want, i want
So I am very certain that this lovely piece of furniture would look smashing in our place. And I pledge to not become an alcoholic as a result of owning it. It's a tad pricey though, and that's before filling it.
so hot
The air conditioning at work has been down for the last few days. Today, I noticed that the mood pencils on my desk have changed color on their own without me touching them. I'm on my break now in room with a thermometer that reads 85 degrees. What a way to end the week. This post is filed under "needs" because I need air conditioning. Big boys don't like hot.
it's "needs" time
Seriously…how fun is this? It's bubble wrap, and it's a calendar. I definitely need one to pop my way through 2009. Click here for more information.
haven't posted a "need" lately

A t-shirt to promote my blog. Probably a waste of money, but would be fun to have. With, of course, the original signature-mike orange logo.
