About Mike
the basics: i’m a blogger, baker, picture taker
I spend a lot of time thinking about little projects that I’d like to do. It could be a recipe, a craft or a photo I’d like to take. This is where I like to keep track of what I’ve done and thought about.
Partnered to the most wonderful guy in the world. I’m not sure what I did in life to deserve him.
Also have the greatest group of friends a guy could ever want.
I created the phrase, “Don’t have a cow.” at computer church camp in the mid 1980’s.
When not at work, you’ll find me at home with Greg and our dog Ted, probably watching some reality show on television.

There once was a pirate named Bates,
Who danced the Fandango on skates.
He fell on his cutlass
Which rendered him nutless
And practically useless on dates

Thanks Tyler. I’m still salivating from your mac & cheese post.
I hope you try it! Let me know what you think.
Thank you for stopping by Life Through the Kitchen Window and following! Your blog is great and I’m looking forward to following it. Got a kick out of your “Martha Stuff” category – I have a “Just Call Me Martha” apron with a crown on it!

Hi Mike. Your photos are gorgeous, your recipes are amazing and your taste in jokes is inspiring. I love a good cheese joke myself: which cheese would you use to lure a bear out of its hiding place? CAMEMBERT!
Ah, cheese jokes! Love it!
Very nice blog – some beautiful recipes here!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Thanks for the “like” on CookingForStrippers Fresh Pasta blog. Wanna trade links?
Hi, thanks for following my baking blog “Fika and more”! I’ve just started blogging and it’s such a thrill to see people outside my own social network finding the blog and liking it
You have loads of great recipes here – looking forward to trying some of them out, particularly the Cappuccino brownies as I’m always on the lookout of great brownie recipes (weakness of mine). Great idea revisiting recipes like that in your Way Back Wednesday feature!
Thanks for visiting my blog! I can’t wait to check out some of your recipes!
I think I just want to ‘like’ everything on your blog. Truly wonderful
Thanks. That’s very sweet.
Thanks for following our blog MIke….enjoying yours as well. The only pirate joke I (Kevin) know is horribly inappropriate or I’d share it here! Keep cookin, keep livin well….Kev and Ang at the Family Feed.
Hey Kevin, now I need to know that joke. Send me an email: mike@madebymikeblog.com
Man can I get in on that pirate joke too?
Mike, thanks for following my blog . . . of course, the very first post I read on your site is Oatmeal Cream Pies, and I see the reference to Buehler’s in Wadsworth — and since I live in Wadsworth and spend LOTS of time at Buehler’s, I thought that was pretty cool! (And the cream pies look pretty darn good, too!)
