  20. Have my nieces over for a weekend devoted to them.
  21. Learn yoga.
  22. Cancel one of my magazine subscriptions. See ya Real Simple Magazine. I didn’t really cancel the subscription, but I did choose to not renew it. So I think that counts. Completed on Friday, January 1, 2010.

  38. New York City!
  1. Mike,
I think you are an inspiration to us all. You have such grand dreams with simple goals. I LOVE , LOVE, LOVE #37. I only wish I could express myself as well as you have and do. I agree LOVE fall and orange! Hope to see you soon,
    Kathy

  2. Mike,

Love the new “Made by Mike”! I printed off the recipe for the potatoes and plan to make them for Al tomorrow night. Loved watching the video and seeing your adorable face. Hope to see you guys soon.

    Love,
    Robin

  3. #28 and #37 could be done in one beatutiful romantic evening!

  4. Step by step. I’m not going to *shame* you Mike when *you’ve* remembered …. Instead, I’ll cheer you on! Love the list and am inspired to make one for myself and launch it on my birthday this fall. Do you mind if I lift # 9, 10, 13, 18, 32 … :-) ?

  5. #28 – Living in Texas it doesn’t seem possible to travel to another state in an afternoon, so I’m not sure how far Chicago or Philadelphia are from you. But if you are ever in those cities, go to Foga de Chao. The food there is amazing! The cuts of meat, the amazing side dishes & the service is unbelievable. Make a weekend of it and try to complete some of your others off your list (like #37).

  6. Not sure how I stumbled across here, but I thought i’d offer you a little suggestion about #1. I process passport applications and thought I should let you know that fees are going up July 13th! The current fee for a passport book is $75 (plus a separate $25 processing fee). But in just 11 days, the fee will be raised to $110. Not flying anywhere? If you’re driving across the border to Canada or Mexico, or cruising (Land or Sea Travel) you may be able to get away with getting just the Passport Card. Fee is $20 right now(plus the same $25 processing fee) but I believe that one will go up to $30.

    Go get it! :)

  7. Hi Mike! Just recently became a follower of your on Twitter and thought I would check out your site. Love it! I especially love this 37 things list. I’m always setting little goals for myself that never seem to get accomplished and this has inspired me to take action! Thanks for the motivation!

  8. this is a lovely idea mike and i applaud you efforts in making it happen
very inspirational keep up the good work

  9. I had the same problem with Real Simple – I wanted to love it but at the end of every issue, I couldn’t quite come up with a list of things to try/do. Therefore also I decided not to renew it… My new problem is that after reading your EF Challenge issues, I want to subscribe!

And, dude, you need to get a passport! What if some rich stranger wants to whisk you and Greg to dinner in Paris – you couldn’t go! As insane as that sounds, it was the winning argument I used with a friend to convince her we needed to get ours. Although no rich stranger has offered to whisk me out of the country (so far…), I have used it to travel abroad (and got my own fabulous dinner in Rome.)

  10. Mike, I can’t tell you how many times I come back to this list and think it is a great idea! There are so many things we hold ourself back from and it is a wonderful feeling when we do it!

Thanks for sharing something so personal,
    Sarah

  11. I think it’s great you have this list! Good luck completing the remaining items!

  12. #11, Sounds great…….Thanks for the invite. Can we make it a champagne brunch?
    We’ll bring the “caesars”

  13. Kelly Bettinger

#34. Come on down to Cincinnati some time. I’d love to be your tour guide!

  14. Hey, I love your lists page, I love making lists, but general “to do in life” ones are always a little tricky for me! Thanks for following and liking!

  15. Hi Mike! I love the idea of the life list. My friends and I made one about a year ago and I don’t think we’ve actually ever set out to do any thing on it… I just wanted to leave a comment and give you a #36A. If you like Ina’s Lemon Chicken with Croutons, you should try her easier version… Lemon Chicken Breasts and make it with her Couscous w/ Toasted Pine Nuts from her How Easy Is That cookbook.

I’m inspired to revamp my list and start working on….

  16. I like your blog and your list! However, I’m disappointed that #6 was not crossed off; hopefully you’ve done that this year.

  17. I love your list, I think it is great inspiration. Thanks for commenting on my cake, I think it would be awesome if you tried to make something adventurous like gluten free!
